Airport Meeting Types
Our meeting types for domestic arrivals are:
- Baggage Claim Area Greet Service
- Curb Pick up
- By the Plane (Chartered Flights)
Our meeting types for international arrivals are:
- Arrival Lobby Greet Service
- Curb Pick up
International arriving passengers go through immigration,
baggage claim and custom procedures before entering the arrival lobby, where
we meet them.
Baggage Claim Area Meet and Greet Service:
Baggage Claim area meet and greet service is available at
all airports we serve. The driver finds the Baggage Claim area number
from the monitors at the terminal. Driver then goes to the Baggage
Claim area with a luggage cart and a name sign. Driver arrives at the
Baggage Claim area about the same time as the flight arrival time.
Our Baggage Claim area meet and greet service is
based on the assumption that passengers expect
to be met. We also assume passengers are
able to read or identify
the sign driver will display. We
require arrangers to inform us, in advance, if passenger does not expect to
be met or is not able to read the sign. We have special procedures to
identify such passengers.
Drivers usually display our standard name sign, to the
arriving passengers. We can also provide special name signs, or
display arranger provided signs. Our standard name sign is as
follows.

Our drivers welcome the passenger and offer help with any
carry on luggage. Drivers then ask if the passenger has checked in
luggage. Drivers will direct the passengers having checked in luggage
to the right carrousel in the baggage claim area.
Drivers will pick the luggage passengers indicate, from
the carrousel and load them on the cart. Drivers will carry the
luggage cart to the curb. Drivers will ask the passenger if he/she
would like to wait at the curb while the driver goes to bring the car or if
he/she would like to walk to the car where parked. In either case, the
driver will load the luggage into the car, and open and close
passenger door.
Driver will check to make sure all seat belts are put on.
Driver will verify destination with the passenger and will drive smoothly to
destination. Drivers will use the car pool lanes as much as possible.
Passengers should not hesitate request changes to the
radio station, radio volume, car temperature, sliding the front seat,
turning inside lights on or off, etc.
Curb Pick up:
This pick up type is available at LAX only. Curb
pick up, being the fastest pick up type, saves passengers time every
time. It is often the frequent flyers choice of pick up. Curb
pick up is from the sidewalk immediately outside the baggage claim area.
Its procedure is very easy.
For curb pick up, the driver, having obtained arrival
updates from the airline, parks the vehicle in the nearest parking area and
sits in the car, waiting for the passenger to call to inform of his/her curb
location, i.e., pillar number.
Center isle pillars, outside LAX baggage claim areas, are
numbered. Arriving passengers leaving the baggage claim area,
may know their location by knowing the pillar number closest to them.
Numbers are marked at the top (near the ceiling) of the center isle pillars.
Pillar numbers consist of a digit (1 thru 7) and a letter. The digit
corresponds to the terminal number. The letter actually identifies the
pillar in that terminal area.
When the arriving passengers call to announce their pillar
number, he/she is informed of the car's license plate number, model and
color. Passengers are requested to stay at the sidewalk and refrain
from going to the center isle. Passenger is requested to raise hand
and point to the driver when he/she sees the car.
At LAX, vehicles are only allowed a short stop at the
curbs. Allowed short stops are for the duration of a quick loading or
unloading only. It is by no means for parking and or for any
waiting at the cub. This necessitates that passengers be ready to
board when calling the car for the curb pick up.
International Arrival Lobby Meet and Greet Service:
International Arrival Lobby Meet and Greet Service is
available at LAX. There are five International arrival lobbies at LAX.
They are at Terminals 2, Tom Bradley, 4, 5 and at Terminal 6. The
driver knows which arrival Terminal the airline normally uses and or
confirms that with the airline. Driver then goes to that international
arrival lobby with a name sign. Driver arrives at the lobby before the
announced arrival time. Driver's wait for international arrivals is
usually much longer compared to the driver's wait for domestic arrivals.
Longer wait is usually because International passengers go through
immigration and custom procedures. Driver's waiting time also seems to
depend on the number of international flights arriving into the same
terminal about the same time and other unpredictable factors. Unlike
domestic arrivals, passengers of different airlines and flights arrive into
the same lobby together. Driver displays the sign to all arriving
passengers. International passengers arrive the meeting location with
their luggage and they are ready to board the vehicle when meeting the
driver.
Our International Meet and Greet Service is based on
the assumption that passengers know and expect
to be met at the airport. We also assume
passengers are able to read or identify
the sing driver will display. We require arrangers to inform us,
in advance, if these assumptions are not valid. We have special
procedures to identify such passengers.
Driver usually displays our standard name sign to the
arriving passengers. We can also provide special name signs designs or
display arranger provided signs. Our standard name sign is as
follows.
